The Music of Gabriel Erkoreka

Erkoreka’s music is performed widely across Europe and the US. In 2003 the Perspectives Ensemble, New York, gave the première of Rabel (fl.cl.vln.vlc) in Chicago, and members of JONDE (Spanish National Youth Orchestra) performed a new work for large chamber ensemble, Tenebrae. The composer has also recently completed a percussion quartet, Fauve, and piano trio, Aldakiak. In 2004 the marimba concerto, Afrika, will be performed at the Venice Biennale. Erkoreka is currently working on a substantial work for large orchestra for the 2004/5 season of the Orquesta de Euskadi (Basque National Orchestra). Next
