What is the bmic?
The British Music Information Centre (bmic) is a resource centre for new music from the UK, holding scores, recordings and biographical information on modern British composers. Although, historically, bmic has collected material from composers based throughout the UK, in recent years activity has focused composers born in or living in England.

Are you part of the British Library or the National Sound Archive?

Do you work with popular music/music by non-British composers/music written before 1900?
No. Do look on the International Music Information Centre website for information on non-British music – www.iamic.net or you can look in your local library. Information on light classical music can be found on www.lightmusicsociety.com A range of key organisations in the UK dealing with jazz, folk, rock, world and MBE musics are listed in the contacts section of our links page.
